Custom Shelving & Wood Paneling

Floor-to-ceiling walnut-veneered paneling and custom shelving bring a single material language to a 15-foot-high space. Conceived as one composition, the work connects open shelves, broad panels and the architecture around them.

The design moves between the scale of the room and the precision of each meeting point. Vertical grain gives the paneling continuity, while the shelving introduces a measured rhythm of openings and edges. Curved shelf ends meet the exposed brick, and changes in depth give the wall a sculptural presence.

Studio Fortenberry approached the commission through end-to-end design and fabrication, considering the overall proportions alongside the intricate details that bring the work together. The result reflects the studio’s belief that a functional element can also shape the feeling and experience of a space.
