The commission
A place for the work.
For BLXXM, pronounced “Bloom,” the commission centered on a custom table for its New York City showroom: a place to present the florist’s work within the space. Studio Fortenberry carried the project from its initial vision through design, implementation and fabrication.
The table brings the studio’s sculptural approach into a working showroom. Layered surfaces and curved supports give the piece a distinct presence while leaving room for the floral work it holds.
From the overall form to the meeting of individual surfaces, the design considers how an object functions, feels and shapes the space around it.
